{"id":13881,"date":"2026-06-30T17:31:58","date_gmt":"2026-06-30T21:31:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.maryland.gov\/dhcd\/?p=13881"},"modified":"2026-07-01T09:39:17","modified_gmt":"2026-07-01T13:39:17","slug":"public-notice-environmental-justice-strategic-equity-plan-public-comment-period-notice","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.maryland.gov\/dhcd\/2026\/06\/30\/public-notice-environmental-justice-strategic-equity-plan-public-comment-period-notice\/","title":{"rendered":"PUBLIC NOTICE: Environmental Justice Strategic Equity Plan Public Comment Period Notice"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development<\/strong> <strong>Public Comment Period \u2013 Environmental Justice Strategic Equity Plan (FY 2027\u2013FY 2029)<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) announces a <strong>30-day public comment period<\/strong> for its inaugural <strong>Environmental Justice Strategic Equity Plan<\/strong>, developed in support of Governor Moore&#8217;s Executive Order on <strong>Valuing Opportunity, Inclusion, and Community Equity (VOICE)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Environmental Justice Strategic Equity Plan will guide DHCD&#8217;s environmental justice priorities and investments over the next three fiscal years, <strong>July 2026 through June 2029<\/strong>. The plan outlines the Department&#8217;s commitment to making targeted, data-informed investments in communities that have been historically overlooked, underserved, and overburdened, while advancing equitable access to housing, community development, and economic opportunity across Maryland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">DHCD recognizes that meaningful and lasting change is achieved through collaboration with the communities it serves.
