{"id":13615,"date":"2026-05-12T16:46:03","date_gmt":"2026-05-12T20:46:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.maryland.gov\/dhcd\/?p=13615"},"modified":"2026-05-13T15:57:17","modified_gmt":"2026-05-13T19:57:17","slug":"notice-of-funding-opportunity-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.maryland.gov\/dhcd\/2026\/05\/12\/notice-of-funding-opportunity-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Notice of Funding Opportunity Maryland Affordable Housing Trust (MAHT) Safe and Secure Water Access in Homes Grant Program Application Competition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Maryland Affordable Housing Trust (MAHT) will open the Round 52 (SFY27) application competition for the Safe and Secure Water Access in Homes Grant Program on May 29, 2026.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Safe and Secure Water Access in Homes Grant Program goal is to provide funding to resolve issues related to water insecurity in the home that impact the overall quality of life for individuals and families statewide. This special grant program gives support to plumbing rehabilitation activities for households with incomes of less than 50% of the greater of the statewide or area median income, adjusted for household size.\u00a0 Preference is given to households with incomes of less than 30% of the greater of the statewide or area median income, adjusted for household size.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>MAHT funds can be used for:<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Costs incurred by a non-profit organization, county and\/or a local jurisdiction to implement a scattered site plumbing rehabilitation project for eligible owner-occupied single family homes. Types of rehabilitation activities include the following:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Repair of non-functioning indoor bathrooms and\/or kitchens that provide\/restore hot and cold running water<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Repair of non-functioning indoor bathrooms and\/or kitchens that provide a working bathtub or shower, a flushable toilet, a sink with a faucet, or a water heater<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Installation or replacement of wells and\/or septic systems\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Connection to public water\/sewer systems<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Activities to improve water quality (e.g., install water treatment systems, replacement of corroded or defective pipes, etc.)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Who can apply? <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Eligible applicants include:<\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Nonprofit Community-Based Organizations (501c3)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">County and Local Government Agencies<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Important Dates:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>Application Deadline:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> July 10, 2026 at 5:00p.m. (EST)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>Informational Webinars:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> May 28, 2026 at 2:00p.m. and June 4, 2026\u00a0 at 2:00p.m.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">To join the webinar, you must RSVP by emailing <\/span><b>MAHT.DHCD@maryland.gov<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.
