The program, administered by the Department\u2019s Community Development Administration, will provide over $3.5 million in grants to homeowners to address critical health and safety issues in their homes that could result in displacement.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cFor too many Marylanders, a leaking roof, a broken furnace, or unsafe electrical wiring can be the difference between staying in their home and being forced out,\u201d <\/span><b>said Secretary Day.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> \u201cThe HAF WholeHome Critical Home Repairs Grant Program is about protecting stability and dignity by helping homeowners address urgent health and safety issues before they become crises. By investing in these critical repairs, we\u2019re helping Maryland families remain safely housed in the communities they call home.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The grant program will provide eligible homeowners with grants of up to $10,000 for critical home repairs such as roof repair or replacement, repair of non-functioning heating or cooling systems, electrical or plumbing repairs, or mold or mildew remediation. To be eligible for funding, applicants must be a Maryland homeowner whose income is at or below 150% of county area median income. Full eligibility criteria and application requirements are available on <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/dhcd.maryland.gov\/Energy-Home-Repair\/Pages\/Homeowner-Grants\/Critical-Home-Repairs-Grant.aspx\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">the Department\u2019s website<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis.
