The $30 million investment to distribute approximately 150,000 devices through the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/dhcd.maryland.gov\/Broadband\/Pages\/default.aspx\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Office of Statewide Broadband<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> is part of an effort to ensure Marylanders have the technology to access reliable, high-speed internet.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cThrough the Office of Statewide Broadband, the state is working to bring high-speed internet to all corners of Maryland,\u201d said DHCD Secretary Jake Day. \u201cIn addition to our infrastructure improvements that are bringing underserved communities online, the office is also focused on initiatives to close the digital divide.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Jurisdictions that have not already received devices, or for those who may have additional needs, can apply through September 29, 2023, at <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/dhcd.maryland.gov\/Broadband\/Pages\/Provider-Resources.aspx\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">https:\/\/dhcd.maryland.gov\/Broadband\/Pages\/Provider-Resources.aspx<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> under \u201cDigital Equity\u201d and \u201cConnected Devices Program,\u201d or go to the application directly at <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/dhcd.maryland.gov\/Broadband\/Documents\/MDCDP-Round2-Guide.pdf\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">https:\/\/dhcd.maryland.gov\/Broadband\/Documents\/MDCDP-Round2-Guide.pdf<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Eligible households are identified as a household with an income at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines.
