Notice of Public Hearing Concerning Issuance of Bonds or Other Obligations to Finance Single Family Mortgage Loans – November 18, 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Community Development Administration (the “Administration”), a unit of the Division of Development Finance of the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development, will conduct a public hearing at 10:00 a.m. on November 18, 2024, via conference call, concerning a plan of financing for the issuance of additional Single Family Program bonds and notes (that are “qualified mortgage bonds” under section 143 of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended) to make funds available to finance the acquisition of Single Family Program loans for calendar years 2025-2027 together in an amount not to exceed $2,400,000,000 (two billion, four hundred million dollars).

The funds made available from the issuance of bonds will:

  1. provide financing for single family residences located within the State, occupied principally by first-time homebuyers who meet income limits established by the Administration and satisfy certain other criteria; or
  2. refund bonds previously issued for such purpose. The bonds may be issued by the Administration in one or more series at various times during the calendar years 2025- 2027. All interested parties are invited to submit written comments and/or present oral comments at the public hearing regarding the issuance of bonds for single family mortgages. Written comments or notice of intent to present oral comments should be received by the Administration on or before November 11, 2024, and should be submitted to Patrice Smith, Single Family Housing, Community Development Administration, at patrice.smith@maryland.gov. Oral comments will be limited to presentations of no more than five (5) minutes per person.
