PUBLIC NOTICE: Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development To Hold Public Hearing, Request Public Comment on HUD PRO Housing Application

NEW CARROLLTON, MD (September 25, 2024) – The Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development has prepared an application for funding in response to the U.S. Housing and Urban Development Department’s (HUD’s) Notice of Funding Opportunity for the Pathways to Removing Obstacles (PRO) Housing grant. The application proposes to use nearly $7,000,000 in PRO Housing grant funding to implement statewide fair housing planning activities and to create a competitive local funding pool that will remove barriers to affordable housing in Maryland.

The Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development will hold a virtual public hearing on Tuesday, October 8 at 3:00 PM EST to gather input and feedback on the application.

The Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development also invites citizen comments during its 15-day public comment period beginning Friday, September 27, 2024 and extending through 5:00 PM EST Friday, October 11, 2024. 

Individuals who are unable to attend the public hearing are encouraged to review the draft application online and submit written comments to jordan.gilmore@maryland.gov.

All comments must be received by 5:00 PM EST Friday, October 11, 2024.
