She is currently in charge of the Security Card Processing Centers, which process over 10,000 ID card applications annually. Sheri and her personnel also travel throughout the state several times a year to process and issue ID’s to state employees who cannot travel to Baltimore or Annapolis.

Sheri is not just a dedicated employee; she is a true goodwill ambassador for the agency and always has a smile on her face. For the past 20 years, she has coordinated MCP’s annual Holiday Toy Drive. In conjunction with the Department of Human Services, needy families with young children are identified in the Annapolis and Baltimore areas each year to receive gifts. If not for Sheri’s efforts, these families would not have a Christmas.

Starting in late November, Sheri places donation boxes throughout DGS facilities in Baltimore and Annapolis and posts flyers encouraging state employees to donate new unwrapped toys for the program. Last year, Sheri collected and delivered toys to seven underprivileged families.

Libby Tressler has been with FOM, Baltimore Public Buildings and Grounds for 16 years. She has a very positive attitude and is always willing to assist when needed.

When decisions are made to decorate for the holidays or host special exhibitions, one name comes to mind: Libby. State Center is such a high profile building, with thousands of employees and daily visitors coming and going each day, that setting up a flawless presentation is essential.

When given the task last year to decorate the lobbies of 301, 201, 300 and the 301 Mezzanine for Christmas, Libby immediately formed a committee of her fellow state employees. She scheduled several meetings, issued assignments to everyone, and created a vigorous work schedule so the lobbies would be decorated within a week following the Thanksgiving holiday. FOM literally received hundreds of compliments saying how good the lobbies looked.

Libby goes far beyond the call of duty. She is always the first person on site leading the decorating charge and the last person to leave in the evening.

Sergeant Sheri Jackson has been with the Maryland Capitol Police for over 35 years.
