U.S. & Maryland Flag Flow Half-Staff, Saturday, June 1, 2019

By executive order the United States Flag is to be flown at half-staff effective immediately until sunset, Tuesday, June 4, 2019. This is done as a mark of solemn respect for the victims of the terrible act of violence perpetrated on May 31, 2019 in Virginia Beach, Virginia. As a matter of protocol, the Maryland flag is lowered to half-staff. No flag may fly higher than the United States flag.
