MSDE Awards Robotics Grants to Maryland Public Schools and Non-Profit Partnerships
Grants Help Support Robotics Programs
BALTIMORE – The Maryland State Department of Education has awarded grants to five non-profit partnerships and 14 schools/districts in support of developing and expanding Robotics Programs.
Maryland’s Robotics Program was established by the 2016 General Assembly (House Bill 115) under the Education Article, Section 7-121 of the Annotated Code of Maryland. This state grant program supports funding for STEM related teaching and learning.
MSDE awarded a total of $250,000 for the 2018-2019 school year. Grants were awarded to:
- Allegany County Public Schools
- Anne Arundel County Public Schools – Broadneck High School
- Anne Arundel County Public Schools – Chesapeake High School/Chesapeake Bay Middle School
- Caroline County Public Schools – Colonel Richardson High School
- Cecil County Public Schools
- Frederick County Public Schools
- Frederick County Public Schools – Brunswick High School
- Frederick County Public Schools – Governor Thomas Johnson High School
- Frederick County Public Schools – Tuscarora High School
- Garrett County Public Schools
- Howard County Public Schools – Centennial High School
- Howard County Public Schools – Centennial High School/Hammond High School
- Howard County Public Schools – Glenelg High School
- Howard County Public Schools – Wilde Lake High School
- Kent County Public Schools
- Montgomery County Public Schools – Hallie Wells Middle School
- Prince George’s County Public Schools – Oxon Hill Middle School/Thomas Johnson Middle School
- Mary’s County Public Schools – Great Mills High School
- Somerset County Public Schools – Washington Academy and High School
- Wicomico County Public Schools
- Worcester County Public Schools – Stephen Decatur Middle School
- College of Southern Maryland Foundation – Calvert, Charles, St. Mary’s Public Schools
- Girl Scouts of Central Maryland – Harford County Public Schools
- PTA Maryland Congress of Parents and Teachers-Takoma Park Elementary School, Inc.
