Maryland State Board of Education to Meet on Tuesday, April 25

BALTIMORE – The Maryland State Board of Education will hold its regular meeting on Tuesday, April 25, at the Maryland State Department of Education, 200 W. Baltimore Street, Baltimore. It will be held in the State Board room on the 7th floor beginning at 9 a.m.

Please note there will be no Monday work session this month.

Items on this month’s regular agenda include the following:

9:50 a.m. Every Student Succeeds Act

The Maryland State Department of Education will continue its work on the State’s plan for the federal Every Student Succeeds Act. Board members will consider the accountability framework, support for excellent educators, and support and improvement for schools.

2:30 p.m. Somerset County

The State Superintendent’s report will spotlight Somerset County, and includes a scheduled visit from Superintendent John Gaddis.
