The Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) is striving to collect data to establish our progress in increasing the environmental literacy of our students.

Maryland students taking the AP Environmental Science exam has been on an upward trend over the last several years. The number of students passing the AP Environmental Science exam with a three or higher has also been increasing. The number of students taking the class is probably even higher than the number of students that take the exam.

An increase in Environmental Science certified teachers in Maryland over the last four years.
