Maryland State Superintendent Lillian M. Lowery will celebrate the success of one the State’s top schools on Monday, June 1, as her annual Blue Ribbon Tour of Excellence makes a stop at Severna Park Elementary School in Anne Arundel County.

Severna Park Elementary is one of six Maryland Blue Ribbon Schools selected earlier this year.  The school has a long history of high achievement, with more than 98 percent of its students hitting proficiency targets on State reading and math assessments.  Established in 1852, the school has benefited from strong community support and a variety of partnerships.
