Maryland Energy Administration FY18 Commercial & Industrial Grant Program Opens for Applications

The Maryland Energy Administration (MEA) is pleased to announce the opening of the FY18 Commercial and Industrial Grant Program. MEA will provide competitive grant awards to implement and showcase ambitious upgrades to commercial and industrial buildings that reduce electricity usage by 15% or more. To encourage the deepest possible energy savings, award amounts will be calculated at rates based upon three (3) tiers of electricity savings:

• Tier 1 – 15% – 20% Electricity Savings: Up to 30% of net total project cost (after the deduction of incentives, rebates, and other leveraged funds), or $125,000, whichever is lower

• Tier 2 – 20.1% – 25% Electricity Savings: Up to 40% of net total project cost (after the deduction of incentives, rebates, and other leveraged funds), or $150,000, whichever is lower

• Tier 3 – 25.1%+ Electricity Savings: Up to 50% of net total project cost (after the deduction of incentives, rebates, and other leveraged funds), or $175,000, whichever is lower

Applications are due to MEA by 5:00 P.M. on Tuesday, October 31, 2017. Awards will be issued on a competitive basis after careful review by MEA.
