Baltimore, MD – The Maryland Energy Administration (MEA) is pleased to announce the opening of the EmPOWER Maryland Commercial and Industrial Grant Program. The MEA will provide competitive grant awards to implement and showcase ambitious upgrades to commercial and industrial buildings that reduce electricity usage by 15% or more. To encourage the deepest possible energy savings, awards will cover up to 50% of project costs after other incentives have been applied. Awards will be issued on a first come/first served basis.  This program offers competitive grants to commercial, industrial, and non-profit enterprises undertaking deep energy retrofits that significantly reduce facility electricity consumption.

To be eligible, projects must save at least 15% of the annual electricity usage for a whole building or treated space within a building; include at least three energy efficiency measures; and all measures must be installed and operational before May 1, 2018.

MEA will host a webinar on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 2:00 – 3:00pm. Click here
