High schoolers volunteer for Arbor Day project near Frostburg

FROSTBURG — More than 50 local high school students volunteered Monday to help the Maryland Department of the Environment plant nearly 2,000 trees on a reclaimed strip mine near Frostburg.

“It was fun,” said Zoe Watkins, an 11th-grader from the Center for Career and Technical Education. “It was a lot of work, but I liked it. I like getting down in the mud.”
