2017 Maryland High School Envirothon Scheduled for June 15-16

ANNAPOLIS, MD – While most high school students are enjoying a well-deserved summer break, more than 100 of Maryland’s brightest teenagers will be competing at the 27th annual Maryland Envirothon on June 15 and 16, in Queen Anne’s County. The Envirothon is a rigorous two-day, outdoor natural resources competition for teens who are passionate about the outdoors and the environment.

Student teams will compete in five areas of environmental studies: soil/land use, aquatics ecology, forestry, wildlife, and this year’s environmental issue: Agricultural Soil and Water Conservation Stewardship.  The winning team will represent Maryland at the North American Envirothon which will be held at Mount St. Mary’s University in Emmitsburg later this summer.
