Sage Policy Group Announces Maryland Horse Industry’s Economic Impact November 21 at Goucher College

ANNAPOLIS, MD – The Maryland Horse Industry Board—a program within the Maryland Department of Agriculture—will host a media event at Goucher College on Monday, November 21, to announce the results the Sage Policy Group’s Maryland Horse Industry Economic Impact Survey. The results are expected to show a significant increase since 2010, particularly in terms of economic activity, jobs and revenue provided to state and local governments.

Maryland’s horse industry dates back to colonial days. Currently, there are 35 equestrian disciplines in Maryland, representing more than 40 different breeds of horses and ponies. The racing and non-racing segments of the horse community are interconnected and dependent upon one another to maintain a vibrant industry.

WHAT: Maryland Horse Industry Board will host an event to announce the results of a recent economic impact survey conducted by the Sage Policy Group. The event will also announce the relocation of the Maryland Horse Breeders Association headquarters from Timonium to Goucher College.
