Maryland Agricultural Land Preservation Foundation Board of Trustees Seeks Nominations

ANNAPOLIS, MD – The Maryland Agricultural Land Preservation Foundation Board of Trustees is seeking nominations to fill an at-large position.

As a group, the Board typically meets once a month at the Md. Dept. of Agriculture in Annapolis.  Typical business items include: recommending easements for approval to the Board of Public Works, review of easement owner lot requests/locations, review of farm agricultural subdivision requests, review of non-standard agricultural easement requests, dealing with easement infractions, and generation of policies, regulations and law to govern the Program.

To be considered, applicants must be Maryland residents and farmer representatives—either actively engaged in or retired from active farming. Appointments are made by Governor Larry Hogan, and each member is eligible to serve two, four-year appointed terms at the Governor’s discretion.  The Board meets the fourth Tuesday of each month from 9 a.m. until noon.  The Board generally does not meet in December.

For application forms, contact Carol West at carol.west@maryland.gov or 410-841-5860.

All forms must be received by May 31. Additional information about the Foundation is available on the program’s website.
