PUBLIC NOTICE:  MDA to Increase Mosquito Control Activities in Baltimore, Anne Arundel Counties  

 ANNAPOLIS, MD – The Maryland Department of Agriculture, in cooperation with Anne Arundel and Baltimore counties, will expand mosquito control services in those counties due to evidence of West Nile virus.

Baltimore County

• Mosquito Control ULV spraying will occur in the following communities, weather permitting, on Monday, Sept. 21, and the following Monday, Sept. 28, beginning at or after 7:30 p.m.: Ashlar Hill, Baynesville, Coventry, Cromwood, Harford Park, Hillendale Farms, Hunt Crest Estates, Joppa Heights, Kings Ride, Knettis Hall, Laureldale, Loch Raven Heights, Lowell Ridge, New Lock Raven Village, Oakliegh Manor, Park Towne, Perring Village, Ridge Grove, Ridgeleigh, Towson Estates, Villa Cresta, and Wood Home Heights. • Mosquito Control ULV spraying will occur, weather permitting, on Wednesday, Sept. 23, and the following Wednesday, Sept. 30, beginning at or after 7:30 p.m. in the following communities:  Beldale, Cedar Lane Farm, Fullerton, Fulerton Farms, Glen Arbor, Necker, Nottingham Woods, Olde Forge, Putty Hill, Rolling Veiw, Silver Hill Farm West, Silver Meadows, Silvergate East, and South Field At White Marsh. Anne Arundel County

• Mosquito Control ULV spraying will occur in the following communities on Wednesday, Sept. 23, weather permitting, beginning at or after 7:30 p.m.: Bayberry On The Magothy, Belvedere Heights, Birchwood, Broadwater Beach, Campus Green, Century 21, Cherrywood, College Hills, College Manor, Divinity Cove, Fernwood, Harting Farm, Jamestown on The Magothy, Kimberly woods Village, Longveiw, Mago Vista, Magothy Estates, Magothy Manor, Moorings on the Magothy, Rosslare, Schoolers Pond, Ulmstead Estates, Ulmstead Gardens, WestMagothy Manor, and Wexford. • Mosquito Control ULV spraying will occur, weather permitting, in the following communities on Sunday, Sept. 20, and the following Sunday, Sept. 27, weather permitting, beginning at or after 7:30 p.m.:  Carrs Ridge, Gatts Corner, Germantown, Holly Hill Harbor, Jacksons Corner, Old Turkey Point Road, Ponder Cover, River Club Estate, Selby on The Bay, Turkey Point Island, and West Shore.  See map of spray area.

MDA works with many communities across the state to provide routine mosquito spraying services; however, when West Nile Virus activity is detected in an area we do not regularly serve, MDA will spray the area and announce those activities through a public notice as well as on our website. Any existing spray exemptions in the area will be temporarily suspended.
