Maryland Agriculture Commission to Hold Public Meeting April 8 at UMES
ANNAPOLIS, MD – The Maryland Agricultural Commission will hold a public meeting on Wednesday, April 8, at 7:00 p.m. at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, Student Services Center in Ballroom B. (Suite 2104, Princess Anne, Maryland 21853). The hearing will be held after the commission’s spring agricultural tour of Somerset and Worcester counties. Anyone interested in farming and rural topics is encouraged to attend. The public meeting is designed to give citizens an opportunity to share their opinions and discuss issues and policies affecting agriculture and rural communities, exchange ideas, get better acquainted with the role of the Maryland Agricultural Commission, and meet the commission members.
The Maryland Agricultural Commission is made up of 30 members, appointed by the Governor, who represent commodities and organizations across the state and serve as an advisory body to the Agriculture Secretary. As a group, the members address legislative and policy issues that affect Maryland agribusiness.
