Meeting Notice: Maryland Horse Industry Board to Meet Jan. 16 in Timonium

ANNAPOLIS, MD – The Maryland Horse Industry Board (MHIB), a program within the Maryland Department of Agriculture (MDA), will meet at 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 16, at the Maryland State Fairgrounds, Administration Building Vista Room, 2200 York Road, Timonium. The meeting will include current information and discussion concerning MHIB initiatives, updates from board representatives and reports from stable inspectors.

After the meeting, the MHIB Health Advisory Committee will meet from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the same room. The committee will be chaired Dr. Michael Odian who represents licensed veterinarians on the MHIB. Dr. Jo Chapman, the acting state veterinarian with MDA’s Animal Health Program, will also attend the health advisory meeting. Agenda topics include updates from board representatives and a discussion of other general business and issues associated with equine healthcare.

MHIB will also have an exhibit in the Cow Palace during the Horse World Expo, Jan. 16-18, at the Fair Grounds.
