Meeting Notice: Maryland Horse Industry Board to Meet Nov. 18; MHIB will present its November Touch of Class Award to Anne Arundel Equestrian after Board meeting

MHIB LogoANNAPOLIS, MD (Oct. 31, 2014) – The Maryland Horse Industry Board (MHIB), a program within the Maryland Department of Agriculture, will meet Tuesday, Nov. 18, at 4 p.m. in the Miller Senate Office Building, First Floor East, 11 Bladen Street, Annapolis. The agenda includes a discussion concerning board initiatives, industry updates from board representatives, and reports from stable inspectors.

A reception and the annual meeting of the Maryland Horse Council will follow the MHIB meeting. At 6 p.m., the MHIB will present its November Touch of Class Award to Barbara Smith, a foxhunter and Thoroughbred horse breeder from Lothian (Anne Arundel County). Smith finished among the Top 10 competitors this summer in the Mongolian Derby, the world’s longest, and perhaps most grueling, equestrian race.
