State Ag Secretary to Visit Cecil, Harford Co. Creameries on Maryland Ice Cream Trail
ANNAPOLIS, MD – In celebration of National Ice Cream Month, Maryland Agriculture Secretary Buddy Hance encourages all Marylanders to enjoy fresh, delicious ice cream as he continues trailblazing the Maryland’s Best Ice Cream Trail, a network of dairy farms across the state that produce ice cream right on the farm and sell it directly to consumers who visit. Eight dairy farms are participating in MDA’s 2014 Ice Cream Trailblazer promotion. Under the program, people pick up an Ice Cream Trailblazer Passport at any of the creameries (or online at www.marylandsbest.net) and have it “stamped” at each creamery. Those who submit a completed passport to MDA before September 15, will be entered in a drawing for the grand prize, which includes a $50 gift certificate to the winner’s favorite creamery; DVD set of the first season of Maryland Public Television’s Maryland Farm and Harvest; signed copy of “Dishing Up Maryland,” cookbook by Lucie Snodgrass; and statewide bragging rights!
