Additional 2014 Maryland Farmers Market Training Dates Added

IMG_0670ANNAPOLIS, MD (July 2, 2014) – Two training dates have been added for farmers and farmers markets that want to accept checks from the Farmers Market Nutrition Program (FMNP), Seniors Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) and Fruit & Vegetable Check (FVC) program. This training is required to enter or renew in the program for 2014.

To date, 15 training sessions have been held. These two new training sessions will be the last ones offered for this market season.

Those who are new to FMNP/FVC/SFMNP and those who took training prior to 2013 are required to attend a session to participate in the program this market season. Training is good for 3 years. Anyone who took this training in 2013 is certified for three years.

Those new to the program are required to attend the training in person. Those who are renewing in the program can attend training via a conference call session.

  • The in-person training will be held Wednesday, July 16, from 9 a.m. through 11 a.m. at the Maryland Department of Agriculture, 50 Harry S Truman Parkway, Annapolis. Lunch is not provided.
  • The conference call training will also be held on Wednesday, July 16, starting at noon. Those who RSVP to train by conference call will receive further instructions via email on the Friday before the training.
