The Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services is proud to count among its employees so many “firsts.” We will continue to spotlight some of our high achievers throughout Black History Month and beyond.

Public Safety Secretary Stephen Moyer awards Ron Wilson the Secretary’s Citation for his decades of service to Public Safety.

TOWSON, MD — In another Public Safety First-Retired Parole and Probation Administrator, Ron Wilson was the first person to receive Public Safety’s Manager of The Year Award in 2005. He said it was one of the best moments of his life.

Wilson began his career not long after the 1968 Baltimore riots.  He stayed Public Safety for more than 40 years as a full time employee and now works for Parole and Probation contractually. Wilson says life and the job have taught him he can handle anything.
