Correctional Officers of the Month recover phones, drugs, and more

TOWSON, MD – Congratulations to the Roxbury Correctional Institution’s Employees of the Month, COII Ryan Thomas, COII Richard Hague, and COII Shawn Pendergast.

In late June, the three conducted a targeted search at Roxbury Correctional Institution. They recovered cell phones, phone chargers, cigarettes and more than 130 strips of suboxone. All told, the contraband had a “jailhouse value” about $13,000.

After the search, Officer Thomas  determined the source of the contraband; his efforts resulted in the termination of a contractual employee.
