GOING TO THE DOGS (and CATS)

TOWSON, MD – On Wednesday, Sept. 9, workers at the Maryland Police and Correctional Training Commissions will deliver 4,000 pounds of dog and cat food they collected to the Humane Society of Carroll County and the Baltimore Humane Society.

The haul is part of a competition held between 10 departments at the site over who could collect and donate the most food in an event titled “The Dog Days of Summer and Cool Cat Nights.” The social action committee effort attempts to improve the local community.

The winning department, measured by pounds contributed, wins an office coffee break with coffee or tea and donuts. Organizers are hoping to do additional volunteer work around the holidays.
