A Generous gift to the DPSCS VetDogs program

Grid

(TOWSON, MD) One of the most successful restorative justice programs in prison received a tremendous donation from a group of veterans who appreciate the amazing DPSCS-America’s VetDogs partnership.

The Ralph S. Tagg Chapter of the Disabled American Veterans in Hagerstown presented the Maryland Correctional Institution-Hagerstown (MCI-H) VetDogs program with a check for $3,000.  This is the latest in a series of tremendously generous donations the local veterans have handed over.

MCI-H was the first DPSCS prison to partner with America’s VetDogs, allowing inmates-some of them incarcerated veterans-to train service dogs for wounded American service people.  Today, DPSCS is proud to have VetDog programs in four facilities:  MCI-H, the Maryland Correctional Training Center in Hagerstown; Eastern Correctional Institution in Westover; and Western Correctional Institution  in Cumberland.

DPSCS sincerely thanks former correctional lieutenant Doug Flanigan and his fellow Ralph S. Tagg veterans for their incredible generosity.
