Farewell to J. Michael Stouffer

TOWSON (Feb. 19, 2015) — It is with great respect that I say farewell to a man who devoted more than 35 years to this Department.

J. Michael (Mike) Stouffer has served with distinction and integrity. He began as a correctional officer and eventually became Commissioner of Correction and Deputy Secretary of Operations.

I wish I could have worked longer with Mike. But today, he is retiring, moving on to what I hope will be a long and healthy “permanent vacation.”

Thank you, Warden Stouffer, for your dedication and integrity. DPSCS is better off because you cared.
