The Menare Foundation, Inc. is seeking volunteers to help clean and prep Button Farm ─ a property in the Maryland Department of Natural Resources curatorship program ─ for the start of its 8-month restoration. DNR Awards Volunteer Fire Assistance Grants to 37 Fire Departments

The Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Forest Service is giving Volunteer Fire Assistance grants to 37 volunteer fire departments across the State this year. DNR will help fund projects in 15 counties to provide these men and women with the tools to better fight wildfires in rural communities. Read more »

NRP Participates In DC Metro Area Litter Enforcement Month

Throughout April, the Maryland Natural Resources Police (NRP) is reminding citizens in and around the Potomac River of the strict penalties and harmful effects of littering. NRP is also seeking volunteers for the 24th Annual Potomac River Watershed Clean-up on April 14. Both efforts are part of the agency’s participation in DC Metro Area Litter Enforcement Month.
