Bidding Opens for Trapping Privileges on Eastern Shore Lands

Process Provides Opportunity to Trap on Public Lands

TrapThe Maryland Department of Natural Resources is currently accepting bids for the 2016-2017 furbearer trapping season for public lands on the Eastern Shore. 

“The bag limits and trapping seasons are established based on abundance, biology and distribution, as well as public interest,” Wildlife and Heritage Habitat Biologist Greg Schenck said. “The open process allows an equal opportunity for all to participate in trapping on our public lands.”

Bid packages must be picked up in-person at the Wellington Wildlife Management Area or Salisbury Service Center for the following areas:

Completed and sealed bids must be submitted to the Salisbury Service Center by noon Oct. 26. Bids will be opened at 1 p.m. Oct. 26 to determine highest bid. For additional information on these properties, please call 410-543-8223.
