Dan’s Mountain Pool Expected to Reopen in Mid-June

Dan’s Mountain Swimming Pool and Waterslide

The swimming pool and waterslide at Dan’s Mountain State Park are expected to reopen in mid-June, following a series of renovations that began last fall.  The renovations include installing a new ADA-compliant lift chair and handrails, repainting the pool, and making several necessary repairs.

“These renovations will not only improve the appearance of the pool, but will also make the pool safer and more accessible for persons with disabilities,” said Park Manager Erin Thomas.  “We were planning to have the work compete in time for Memorial Day weekend, but the weather caused a few delays.”

In addition to the swimming pool and waterslide, Dan’s Mountain State Park features four large group pavilions, a recycled-tire playground, and a put-and-take trout fishing area.  Nearby, Dan’s Rock Overlook affords a panoramic view of the surrounding region from a height of nearly 3,000 feet.

Those with questions about the pool may call the Ranger Station at 301-895-5453.
