New Germany State Park to Feature Greg Latta in Concert

New Germany State Park will feature the acoustic sounds of local musician Greg Latta as he performs a combination of Appalachian, Irish, old-time and traditional music using variety of instruments at the park’s Lake House.
Latta is a mesmerizing singer, songwriter, and award-winning performer. Skilled on more than 15 different instruments, he will perform using the Appalachian dulcimer, guitar, banjo, cittern, Irish bouzouki, harmonica, concertina, limberjack, recorder and more. His original works include old coal mining, whaling, contemporary and traditional topical, and children’s songs. Though known mainly for his hammered dulcimer playing, Latta is also an award-winning banjo player, having placed five years in a row at the banjo competitions held in Friendsville, Maryland.
Latta is a three-time winner of the Mid-Eastern Hammered Dulcimer Championship, and has twice been a runner up in the National Hammered Dulcimer Championships held in Winfield, Kansas. In addition to his stage performances and recordings, Latta is host and producer of the popular radio show Just Plain Folks, which can be heard Saturday afternoons on WFWM 91.9 FM, the Frostburg State University public radio station. He is also a member of the Frostburg State University faculty.
