Young anglers of all skill levels are invited to enjoy a morning of fun and fishing at Dan’s Mountain State Park’s annual Youth Fishing Rodeo.

“The Fishing Rodeo is a great opportunity for kids to learn and enjoy the sport of fishing in a pressure-free environment,” said Park Ranger Luke Mongrain.

To encourage beginners, a limited supply of fishing equipment will be available for loan during the event. Interested anglers need not RSVP. The Rodeo will begin promptly at 8 a.m., so participants are encouraged to arrive early and ready to fish. The park will award a wide variety of door prizes, and all participants will receive a free hot dog and drink.

The annual Fishing Rodeo is organized by the Dan’s Mountain Park Association, a non-profit volunteer organization dedicated to supporting Dan’s Mountain State Park. The event is sponsored by numerous local businesses and organizations.

“Dan’s Mountain State Park is extremely fortunate to have so much support from the local community,” said Park Manager Erin Thomas.
