Young anglers are invited to spend a few hours on the water fishing for trout at Gambrill State Park’s Youth Fishing Rodeo. The park’s Rock Run pond will be stocked with fish ready for action!

The public event provides youth the opportunity to learn and apply fishing skills, and win a guaranteed prize for their efforts. All participants must be accompanied by an adult 18 or older and bring their own fishing tackle and bait.

The rodeo is limited to the first 35 registered participants, so be sure to sign up early. The event is free with paid park entry, collected at the honor box in Rock Run. To sign-up or get more information call 301-271-7574.

Gambrill’s Rock Run Area is located one half mile from US Route 40 West, west of the golden mile in Frederick.  From Rt. 40 the entrance to Rock Run is about one half mile on the left just past Shookstown Road.

This event is sponsored by Cunningham Falls and Gambrills State Parks, The Friends of Cunningham Falls and Gambrill State Parks, as well as the Maryland Fisheries Service.
