Young anglers of all skill levels are invited to enjoy a day of fun and fishing at Fort Frederick State Park’s annual Youth Fishing Derby.
The public event provides youth the opportunity to learn and apply fishing skills, and maybe even win a prize for their catch! The park’s Beaver Pond will be stocked with fish ready for action.
All participants must be accompanied by an adult 18 or older and bring their own fishing tackle and bait. Park staff will assist anglers as needed. Preregistration is not necessary.
Fort Frederick State Park is located off of Route 70 exit 12 at State Route 56, Big Pool. To access Beaver Pond, follow Fort Frederick Road past the fort, over the railroad tracks and park in gravel lot on the right.
