Sponsors Sought for Maryland Bay Game Activity Book

by kking

The Maryland Department of Natural Resources invites citizens, businesses and organizations to become a part of the 2014-2015 Maryland Bay Game through a variety of sponsorship opportunities! Now in its 17th year, this exciting activity booklet is given to schools, libraries, State Parks, and visitor centers for children to enjoy throughout the summer and all year long.

“This year’s theme focuses on how the health of our streams and the health of the Chesapeake are interconnected,” said DNR Secretary Joseph P. Gill. “Thanks to our generous sponsors, the Maryland Bay Game has been able to promote messages of sustainability and stewardship to our State’s youth for nearly two decades now.”

DNR publishes this free activity book annually in celebration of the State’s wealth of natural resources, rich history and inquiring young minds. Through games, trivia, puzzles and outdoor fun, this award-winning booklet has inspired kids ─ many of whom are now adults ─ to learn about and connect with their natural world.

The publication is sought-after by tens of thousands of families, civic and community groups, scouting organizations, environmentalists and educators throughout Maryland and the Chesapeake Bay region. One-quarter million print copies were distributed statewide last year. An electronic version is also available on the DNR website, which receives over 1.5 million unique visitors annually.

While the Maryland Bay Game is written and designed by DNR staff, printing and distribution is paid for entirely by sponsors. There are several opportunities for businesses to support the publication through logo placement, website exposure, full and half-pages and more. Donations are tax deductible, though sponsors should review the requirements outlined in IRS Publication 526 and consult their tax advisors.
