Pennsylvania Man Charged with Growing Marijuana

Natural Resources Police LogoMaryland Natural Resources Police (NRP) arrested a Pennsylvania man Monday on multiple drug charges and seized 84 marijuana plants from three plots inside Green Ridge State Forest in Allegany County.

Alan Randolph Large, 39, of Artemas, was charged with growing marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of plants and production equipment, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He is being held in the Allegany County Detention Center on $25,000 bail. A preliminary hearing date is pending.

The investigation by NRP, Maryland State Police Marijuana Eradication Task Force and the Drug Enforcement Administration began earlier this summer at Green Ridge, at 44,000 acres Maryland’s second largest forest.

On Monday morning, they observed Large cultivating 39 marijuana plants and arrested him.
