Yu, Professor of East Asia & Military History and founder of the Asia Forum at the United States Naval Academy. The program will include a reading of the Governor’s Proclamation, an open dialogue and a light lunch.

Dr. Yu consults with government agencies and Congress on China-related topics. He has appeared on the PBS NewsHour as a China analyst, at congressional hearings as an expert witness, and on the History and Discovery channels as a chief historian for military documentaries. Dr. Yu, a published author, was named the top researcher at the USNA in 2009.

National Asian-Pacific American Heritage Month pays homage to the contributions of Asian-Pacific Americans to the U.S. For Information on the Maryland Governor’s Commission on Asian-Pacific American Affairs, visit asian.maryland.gov or call Yi Shen, Commission Administrative Director, at 410-767-7138.
