Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Secretary John Griffin presented Outdoors Maryland Executive Producer Mike English with the Ambassador of the Chesapeake award at the series’ 25th anniversary celebration on March 20. English was honored for his outstanding work in capturing Maryland’s breathtaking beauty and vibrant ecosystems, and sharing the stories of the people who explore and protect them. Read more

DNR Revamps Volunteer Angler Survey
Maryland’s online Volunteer Angler Survey now has a new look, an added fish species and great prizes! The Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) developed the new and improved survey to be more user-friendly, gather additional information and offer incentives to those who participate. Fort Frederick Opens Season With Historic Reenactments

The Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is asking citizens for their thoughts on State parks and lands at a public input meeting, or through a quick and easy online survey. The Department held meetings in other regions earlier this month but the one in central Maryland was cancelled because of inclement weather. Read more 
Assateague to Host Bunny Hop Egg Hunt
When: Saturday, March 23 from 1 to 2 p.m.

Participants will hop down the bunny trail at Assateague State Park in search of hidden eggs containing goodies! Hoppers should bring their own basket and a keen eye. Children will be divided into three age groups ─ Tiny Tots, Little Tikes and Bunny Hoppers. Read more 
State Outdoor Recreation Survey Now Online
The Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) encourages Marylanders to share their thoughts on State parks and lands through a quick and easy online survey.
The survey asks a variety of multiple choice and open ended questions that will help DNR determine which outdoor recreation facilities, programs and services do and do not meet the needs of the community. Areas include State parks, forests, wildlife areas and trails. Read more
