Trail Closed at Elk Neck State Forest
The Pete Bond Hiking Trail and Scenic Overlook at Elk Neck State Forest have been closed indefinitely due to a fire at the shooting range complex.
The fire, which occurred this past weekend, destroyed a safety baffle (wall) at the rifle range. As a result, staff have closed the trail and scenic overlook to ensure the safety of the public. The shooting range is open. For more information contact the forest at 410-287-5675.

hanks for the info. Is the trail to Turkey Point Lighthouse affecrted?
Hi Bob,
The Lighthouse is actually at Elk Neck State Park, 10 miles south of the range, so it is not affected. The State Forest has a lighthouse trail and it is also not affected.
