Riparian Property Licensing Still Open
Application Deadline June 1
The Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is still accepting applications for offshore waterfowl blind and shoreline licenses for riparian (waterfront) property owners. A license will establish offshore stationary blinds or blind sites for hunting waterfowl, or prevent others from licensing the shoreline at a later date.
Riparian property owners or those with permission from the landowner may license their shoreline. Applicants must submit paperwork and fees by mail, or in person in Annapolis, by the close of business June 1, 2013. Licenses are $20 for one year, or $60 for three years. Landowners who miss the June 1 deadline may participate in the “open” licensing process beginning August 6.
Applications and information on laws related to shoreline licensing for riparian property owners are available at dnr.state.md.us/wildlife/Licenses/riparian.asp or by calling the Wildlife and Heritage Service at 410-260-8540, toll free at 1-877-620-8367.
