Gunpowder Falls State Park to Host Winter Youth Programs

Gunpowder Falls State Park staff welcome children to take part in their nature-themed series of winter youth programs. Participants will explore the park, discovering nature and learning about the outdoors along the way.
Park Rangers and enthusiastic instructors from the Maryland Conservation Corps will engage children using nature-themed crafts, games, hikes and other great projects designed to increase outdoor awareness and encourage early childhood development.
Each of the following series includes one session per week for six weeks:
- Junior Rangers (Ages 9-12): 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., every Friday from February 8 to March 15
- Park Pals (Ages 5-8): 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., every Friday from February 8 to March 15
- Sprouts (Ages 3-4): 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., every Friday from February 8 to March 15. Participants must be accompanied by a guardian.
The programs cost $25 per child for Junior Rangers and Park Pals, and $15 per Sprout. Each additional child from the same family is only $10. They will be held at the Days Cove area of the park.
