Stream Restoration Challenge Deadline Extended
The Stream Restoration Challenge is a new grant program — open to local governments, school systems and non-governmental organizations — established to fund Chesapeake Bay water quality improvement projects, and service learning and environmental literacy programs for students. The Challenge was created to help reach Maryland’s goal of establishing 1,000 acres of forested stream buffers by 2015.
The deadline to submit a proposal has been extended through November 9, 2012. For more information or to apply for a grant, citizens may visit dnr.maryland.gov/trustfund/streamchallenge.
