December 2016 Honorees

Angela Allen

Angela Allen, Administrator for the Public Schools & Community Colleges team in FPDC, is always ready, willing and able to provide   needed information and guidance to any member of the Public Schools  and Community Colleges team. She is exceptionally organized and is    always available to assist local school systems with questions about DGS procedures and the status of their submissions. The program manager is frequently out of the office for meetings, and Angela can be trusted to keep everything  moving along smoothly. “Her experience, knowledge and   positive presence all add up to Angela frequently being caught ‘Doing Great Service,’” said Fred Mason, her supervisor.

Sgt. Sheri Jackson

MCP Sergeant Sheri Jackson supervises the Department’s two security card processing centers, which are responsible for issuing all state ID’s and administering proxy access controls for all DGS facilities. On average, the centers issue 15,000 ID’s a year. To make this process more accessible for state employees who work outside the Baltimore and Annapolis areas, Sgt. Jackson devised a Mobile ID Program, where she and members of the security card centers travel throughout the state to issue security cards. In 2016, Sgt. Jackson completed 10 separate road trips and issued over 3,000 ID’s. Sgt. Jackson’s dedication to service does not end there. Every holiday season, she coordinates the Annapolis Maryland Capitol Police toy drive for underprivileged children. “Sgt. Jackson is an outstanding member of the department who deserves to be recognized for all of her efforts to improve the quality of life on the job and in the community,” said Chief Mike Wilson.

Dave Kelleher

Darryl Andrews

The Valuation and Appraisal Division of the Office of Real Estate is staffed by just two people – Dave Kelleher, Assistant Chief, and Darryl Andrews, Senior Review Appraiser. The division was experiencing near historic individual workloads from the Maryland Agricultural Land Preservation Foundation in 2016.  Despite this volume, Dave and Darryl made the extra effort to help clear some of the backlog of capital grant assignments. “In one 30-day period, they assisted in reducing the caseload of 11 assignments down to three,” said Assistant Secretary for Real Estate Wendy Scott-Napier.
