Local Businessman Makes Connections at Business Information & Opportunities Session

The Maryland Department of General Services (DGS) delivers contracting opportunities. That’s what one attendee at last Friday’s (April 28, 2017) Design & Construction Project Review meeting in Crownsville made clear.

“It is very important for small businesses to try and keep connected to find job leads,” said Charles McCollum of Sunlight Electric Corp in Upper Marlboro, MD. “Events like this Design & Construction Project Review meeting are a perfect way for small businesses to learn what design and construction projects are coming up in the state.”

Numerous other business people among the over 100 participants voiced similar sentiments.

The goal of the meeting, one in a series of “Business Information and Opportunities” sessions conducted across the state by DGS’s Office of Administration, was to provide valuable information to MBE and small businesses about FY18 design and construction contracting opportunities. Project managers and procurement officers were on hand to answer questions. The meeting was also designed to facilitate networking opportunities.
