CAUGHT Doing Great Service — Becky Vodusek

Becky Vodusek is a valued employee at the Maryland Capitol Police Baltimore headquarters. Since her first day about three years ago, she has shown a willingness and desire to assist however she can. She keeps day-to-day functions running smoothly and is involved in every facet of MCP’s operations. Among her many duties, she is the receptionist, Human Resources liaison, hiring coordinator, records keeper and SPS timekeeper for headquarters, Special Services and the Baltimore Detachment.

As HR liaison, Becky works closely with the Human Resources division to ensure our hiring processes remain on schedule. She compiles employee information packets, schedules job interviews, and coordinates start dates and onboarding requirements. Becky is also responsible for maintaining administrative files, correspondence, auxiliary personnel files and time-keeping records.

An essential responsibility requiring accuracy and attention to detail is Becky’s role as SPS timekeeper for three quarters of the agency. Every two weeks, she works closely with the Finance office to send out reminders on submission due dates. She provides guidance on special coding for specific circumstances, such as holidays and MCP’s 24/7 staff. Becky reviews time sheets to ensure overtime is properly documented, completes time entries for absent employees, and makes corrections and adjustments to ensure that time and leave for MCP personnel are submitted on time.

“Becky performs all of her responsibilities with professionalism and courtesy,” said Chief Mike Wilson. “She always has a positive attitude.”

Becky was “Caught Doing Great Service” this month and was recognized at the Baltimore All-Hands meeting on March 21.
