Employee of the Month — Anthony Faust

“Call Anthony” is a familiar phrase around DGS. Whether it’s the new Workday system, employee appreciation days, the Maryland Combined Charities campaign, or the summer YouthWorks program, Anthony is there to help out.

For example, long before many of us began to focus on Workday, Anthony had already become familiar with the multi-step timesheet function.  As we got closer to the May launch, it was Anthony who conducted training sessions for DGS employees. The room was always full and he was knowledgeable and patient, even making it easy for the technologically challenged among us to learn the system. And Anthony continues to conduct one-on-one refreshers and to troubleshoot whenever an employee is having difficulty with Workday.Anthony Faust

“He comes to work excited and happy every day and is always willing to help in any way possible,” said Denise Estep, Acting Director of Human Resources and Anthony’s supervisor. “He provides exemplary service to employees and strives for perfection in every task.” Anthony is a member of the Combined Charities Campaign planning committee. He helps plan and organize events, like last year’s Fall Fest, and participates at every stage, from set-up to clean-up. The same is true for the Baltimore and Annapolis employee appreciation days.

In the YouthWorks program, Anthony not only is a mentor; he’s also a role model to the participating high school students. A 2014 graduate of Morgan State University with a B.S. in Business/Management, Anthony stresses the importance of getting an education. “A degree is important,” he tells the students. “It will take you a long way.”

Anthony joined DGS in August 2014 as a contract employee. He earned well-deserved permanent status last November as a Personnel Associate 1.

For his commitment to DGS and its employees and the positive attitude he brings to every task, Anthony Faust is our employee of the month.
